WHY DO WOMEN OFTEN OVERLOOK THE RISKS OF HEART DISEASE?

The feminine gender has a higher disadvantage when trying to identify the hazards linked to heart disease. We will talk about a few of the causes behind it in this post.

Nearly 18 million people every year pass away from heart-related causes, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO). This data is concerning, making it crucial for everyone to learn more about cardiac disorders, the dangers associated with them, and the early signs that may help detect the condition and provide medical assistance.

Dr Gaurav Minocha, Director of Cardiology at Max Hospital in Vaishali, helped us understand why women are more likely to experience cardiovascular issues our conversation.

"Women's heart disease is a common occurrence," Women don't appear to notice them as much as men do, and they frequently arrive late at the doctor or ER, according to Dr Minocha. The idea that heart disease does not affect women is one of the most pervasive fallacies surrounding it.According to Dr Minocha, "A significant factor would be a simple lack of awareness that heart disease is a risk for them too and that it doesn't affect the men only."

Some people may believe that men are more likely to suffer from heart disease. Women may not know what to look for because certain heart disease symptoms in them might be different from those in males, according to MayoClinic. The typical heart disease symptoms that primarily affect males do not affect women. Another explanation is that women may experience unusual symptoms, such as milder versions of the usual acute, crippling chest pain. Thus, a heart attack can occur without the victim feeling any chest discomfort, according to Dr Minocha. The signs of heart disease, which are often ignored, include chest heaviness, breathing issues, restlessness or feeling nervous and scared, arm or shoulder discomfort, dizziness, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, or simply feeling under the weather, according to Dr Minocha.

It is simpler to overlook these symptoms because they can also be found in a wide range of other physical conditions. Dr Minocha emphasises that one of the most frequent and evident reasons why women overlook heart disease indicators is that they frequently conceal their symptoms from family members and have a tendency to ignore them until they are severe.

"Social and economic factors are also known to contribute to delays in the diagnosis and treatment of any health condition in women, including heart disease," the doctor continues. Several risk factors for heart disease are problematic for women.

The risk factors for cardiovascular problems include diabetes, stress and anxiety, smoking, physical inactivity, menopause, pregnancy issues, having a family history of heart disease, and having inflammatory disorders like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

These sexual practices pose a considerable danger. Know these subtle indications of undiagnosed hypertension. A woman's nails started tearing away from her nail bed after getting a gel manicure; she feels jolting pain while doing daily duties.
